Lionel messi has excelled at many things during his illustrious footballing career..
The diminutive Barcelona superstar is a master at scoring goals, assisting his teammates and just genuinely dictating the tempo of any game.
It is no surprise that many label him as the finest footballer to have ever graced the game and at just 30-years-old, his time on the pitch is far from over.
Perhaps the finest record ever broken by the great man was when he managed to notch 91 goals in a calendar year for Argentina and Barcelona.
It surpassed the record of 86 by Gerd Muller, which many thought would never be broken.
He's Barcelona and La Liga's leading goal scorer as well, but what other major records does the Argentine have left to break?
Well, quite a few and Spanish publication Sport have named the nine that Messi will be eyeing up in the coming years.
1. PLAYER WITH THE MOST TROPHIES IN FOOTBALL HISTORY
With 30 already, Messi will be keen on surpassing Ryan Giggs (36), Vitor Baia (35), current colleague Andres Iniesta (32) and Dani Alves (31).
2. TOP GOAL SCORER IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE HISTORY
Messi is currently quite far behind Cristiano Ronaldo, who has 110 goals to his name. The Argentine has a lot of work to do to boost his 97 strikes.
3. PLAYER WITH THE MOST EUROPEAN CUPS
Real Madrid legend Paco Gento is the man to beat with six, while Messi lingers on four. Can he add one more to his collection this year?
4. PLAYER WITH MOST EUROPEAN TITLES
It is that man Alves again, along with AC Milan legend Paolo Maldini, who hold power here, with nine to their name. Messi only has seven, with four Champions Leagues and three European Super Cups.
5. TOP GOAL SCORER FOR ONE CLUB
Messi currently has 523 goals for Barca, with the European record being held by Josef Bican for Slavia Prague, who notched 534 between the years of 1937 and 1948. For the world record, he'll have to surpass Pele's tally of 643 for Santos.
6. PLAYER WITH MOST BARCELONA APPEARANCES
Xavi Hernandez (767) and Iniesta (642) are the ones ahead of him, with Messi currently on 600.
7. PLAYER WITH THE MOST WINS IN SPAIN
Messi currently has 298 La Liga victories to his name and he should beat Iker Casillas' tally of 334 in the next couple of seasons.
8. PLAYER WITH MOST GOLDEN BOOTS
It's a classic Messi v Ronaldo battle, with both sitting on four to their name. However, with the Barca man already on 12 goals this season, he may have taken the initiave.
9. PLAYER WITH MOST BALLON D'ORS
Now, Messi may already hold this record with five, but with Ronaldo the firm favourite to add his fifth this year, the Argentine still has a lot of work to do to keep hold of this accolade.
Can he break them all? You wouldn't put it past him.
